Let's fix this once for all!

    $5,550.00 raised
    GOAL: $6,000.00

Did you know that 52% of the world's sea turtles have ingested plastic or other human rubbish? Recently the Australian Senate Inquiry into marine plastic pollution warned of a ‘looming health crisis’ from eating seafood and ingesting the bioaccumulation of plastic and adhered toxic chemicals.

    This has to stop!

The good news is, we are definitely making progress. Last year, the Queensland government announced a plastic bag ban and a Cash for Containers scheme for the state. We know that the Queensland community overwhelmingly support both these measures. It’s now time to put these initiatives into action, and to make that happen we need an Act of Parliament NOW.

A State election must happen in the next 12 months, so it is essential that both Cash for Containers and a plastic bag ban are legislated before then. If not, the plan to introduce both schemes into Queensland in July 2018 will simply not happen.

Help us get the Queensland Parliament to vote for a cash for containers and plastic bag ban. A donation of just $40 will help win every single MP's vote.

Because if this does not happen, who knows what the next election will bring.

Let’s Make Queensland a leader in litter and plastic pollution reduction, and show the laggard States like NSW and Victoria how to do it!

Help Give Our Oceans a Chance

    $2,440.00 raised
    GOAL: $4,000.00

The problem of plastic pollution is escalating at an alarming rate, causing significant issues for our valuable marine wildlife.

The upcoming NSW by-elections present the perfect opportunity to bring marine plastic pollution to the forefront of the political agenda.

The time to act is now and we have put together a powerful ad containing the stance of all by-State elections candidates on plastic bag bans. We only have a few days to get this ad in local newspapers and we need your help!

Example of an ad that we want to publish in the North Shore Times

It is critical that we seize this moment and increase the pressure on our local politicians and the current NSW Government. Please donate $40 to help us publish our ads in the North Shore Times, the Manly Daily and the Central Coast Express Advocate this week. Help us make our campaign impossible to ignore!

Every donation over $2 is tax deductible.
