The Queensland State Government has announced a plan to ban on lightweight, single-use plastics bags by 2018, and this includes degradable and biodegradable bags. They are asking for your input on how they should do this.
A Discussion Paper is currently out for public comment, with a deadline of 27th February 2017.
The more public comments they get the sooner this will happen and the more the Government will act on other disposable plastics.
It's also time for the government to ban helium balloons which are equally harmful to wildlife. Add this to their list.
