It’s time to step up your game, Victoria!

Your hard work is paying off! NSW, QLD, ACT and WA all have committed to introduce a deposit scheme on bottles and cans in the years to come. We now need your support to get Victoria to join them. It doesn't matter if you live in another state, taking action today will help protect our wonderful oceans and clean up Australia.

While other states are taking action, Victoria has its head buried deep in the sand, playing a 'wait and see' game we cannot afford. Beverage litter is becoming an escalating threat to our marine wildlife, with studies showing a staggering 95% of bird species will have consumed plastics by 2050. It’s time to step up your game, Victoria!

With beverage containers contributing over 40% of the volume of litter and making up over 30% of marine plastic pollution, it is an issue we cannot ignore any longer. Can you sign our petition today to help to clean up Australia’s dirtiest state? It takes 30 seconds and will have a huge impact. You do not have to reside in Victoria to add your name.

Together we have been campaigning for effective container deposit systems for 13 years because it works. We know 10 cents is all it takes to clean up our communities, parks and waterways. We have gone from strength to strength, seeing all but one of Australia’s mainland states committing to the implementation of a container deposit scheme. Now, with your help, we want Victoria to also commit and harmonise with other states in 2017.

Please help us save countless marine animal lives by signing our petition to show the Victorian Minister for the Environment, Lily D’Ambrosio, that you support a refundable deposit on bottles and cans in Victoria now.

Cash for Containers for Victoria, it just makes cents!

Thank you so much for all you do.

Jeff Angel, Annett Finger and the Boomerang Alliance Team

Cash For Containers Campaign

We have all seen the litter. It’s hard to miss. Actually every minute no less than 15,000 bottles and cans are littered or landfilled in Australia. This represents more packaging waste per person than many overseas countries. Insane isn't it? Fortunately a simple solution is at hand. It is called Cash for Containers or Container Deposit Scheme (CDS).
